Sports Update 9 February 2023

Tennis

We almost had a clean sweep in this last round of tennis matches. Our 4th and 5th teams had to go up against each other, so there could unfortunately only be one winner! The girls are showing great competitive spirits even within the teams. Challenge matches are happening almost daily with players wanting to up their rankings and move into a higher team. Great results tennis girls! Keep it up!

Indoor Hockey

Week 2 of Indoor Hockey league fixtures came with a couple of disruptions, as a number of our learners were unavailable, and our opponents also had a large number of learners unavailable due to a camp.

This meant that we were only able to play 3 matches against St Cyprian’s. The First and Second team matches have been postponed to Monday 13 February 2023.

All matches next week will see us taking on Fairmont in Durbanville.

WP Water Polo League Matches Vs Herschel – 3 February

Rustenburg Girls’ Water polo U14A and First Team played their first league match of the season against Herschel. The two teams travelled to opposition territory for their matches and anticipated a tough encounter. The U14A’s played the Herschel U16B team, while our First team took on Herschel U19A’s. Both teams suffered a heavy defeat having experienced an opposition with an elite level of fitness and skills. A tough loss, but many lessons to take from the encounter as we look towards matches to come.
