Sports Update 10 November 2022

The Exam Sports Programme kicked in on Monday.

The Exam Sports Programme differs from the Term 4 Programme as there are far fewer sessions being offered.

A message for the learners – “If your session is being offered then you are still expected to attend it. However, if your session no longer exists then you may join any session/sport of your choosing. It is not necessary to sign up before next week. Just ensure that your name does appear on the register of that session (Grade 8s and 9s) that you attended. HP sessions will count as a sport session for Gr 8s and 9s.”

Hockey

Outreach Hockey

Over the course of the last couple of months, we have received dozens of donations towards our Outreach and Development Hockey Clinic. We are incredibly grateful to our hockey community for these donations, and urge you to continue to support this initiative and donate whatever hockey equipment you may have that is no longer in use.

While this was something we had hoped to do in 2022, we have had some difficulty finding times and dates that work for both us and our associate clubs. As a result, we have made the decision that we will host the first of our Outreach Clinics in the early part of 2023.

This gives both us and the associate clubs, enough time to put something together that will allow us to build long-standing relationships, and make an impact in the greater hockey community.

If you would like to donate or support this initiative in any way, please contact Mr Olu Ncukana at ncukanao@rghs.org.za

Thank you for your continued support.

Water Polo

Round-Robin U16A Tournament, Rhenish Girls’ High, 4 November

Rustenburg Girls’ Water Polo U16A team travelled to Stellenbosch on Friday afternoon, 4 November to play in a round-robin tournament at Rhenish Girls’ High. They played well as a team and it was a great opportunity to introduce the new members to the water polo tournament environment. They showed great commitment to each game and never gave up. The tournament allowed us to see where our strengths and weaknesses lie and how to improve in future games. Overall a great afternoon of fun water polo. The results from last week’s matches are as follows:
