Hockey

On Friday, 29 May, Rustenburg Hockey played away against Reddam Constantia in the league. It promised to be a mouth-watering clash with both schools doing well in the league so far. With Reddam having only 5 teams, Rustenburg’s C and D teams played against Herschel in friendlies. Our U14A and U14B also played against Western Province U13B and Western Province U13C, respectively.

A fierce weekend of competition saw several teams draw their matches, but the highlight belonged to the U16A Team, whose clinical 3-0 win against Reddam secured their qualification for the U16 Top 12 Hockey Tournament. Currently holding a national ranking of 10th, this talented group has earned the opportunity to compete against South Africa’s elite top 11 schools this August.

Netball

Our teams were invited to two friendly tournaments last week. The first on Thursday, 28 May vs St.Cyprians and the second on Friday, 29 May vs Reddam Constantia at their Reddam Derby.

Unfortunately, due to slippery courts at St. Cyprians on Thursday, not all of our teams had the opportunity to play. Our A Teams represented us in full force, dominating the courts by playing fierce matches. With proper strategic game plans in place, our U14 Team was the highlight of the weekend, winning against Reddam Constantia in a nail-biting series of unprecedented Netball showcased on the court

A huge thank you to our parents who came out to support and cheer our Netball Teams. The Gees on the stands were evidently felt.
