RGHS Sports Update 27 August 2026

Hockey

Last weekend, the RGHS Hockey A-Teams attended the 2026 PGSGU Tournament, hosted by Wynberg Girls’ High School. All our teams did very well and made us proud. The U19A team finished third, while the U14A team went unbeaten and finished second. The U16A team were also unbeaten and placed first. Congratulations to all players involved. We are very proud of our teams.

Congratulations to Lucy Walker, who played her 50th match for the U19A team at PGSGU.

It was also a weekend when the matrics represented Rustenburg in an official hockey match for the last time. Thank you for what you have contributed to hockey at Rustenburg, and we wish you the best of luck for exams and your hockey journey ahead.

Netball

All our Netball teams went out guns blazing as they pushed through their final fixture of the season against The Settlers High School!

Although the Northern Suburbs brought some scorching heat, our RGHS teams brought that same energy and intensity to the courts, keeping the heat ablaze from start to finish!

Well done to all our teams on a momentous final fixture! Your determination, fighting spirit and commitment throughout the season have been incredible. What a way to close off the season!

Climbing

Camille Meyer (Grade 9) achieved an excellent second-place finish in the Lead Climbing event at the Provincial Championships held last week. Her outstanding performance earned her provincial colours, and she will now represent the province at the National Championships in Johannesburg next month. Congratulations, Camille, and best of luck at Nationals!
