Congratulations to Amelie Visser (Grade 12) on her selection to attend the South African Women’s Rugby Training Camp.
Amelie will join some of the country’s most talented rugby players at the national training camp. Being selected for this camp is a remarkable achievement and a testament to her dedication, perseverance, talent, and commitment to the sport.
This opportunity marks an important milestone in Amelie’s rugby journey and reflects the countless hours of hard work she has invested both on and off the field.
The Rustenburg Girls’ High School community is incredibly proud of her accomplishment and wishes her every success during the training camp. We look forward to following her progress and celebrating this exciting achievement.

Hockey
On Friday, 24 July, Rustenburg took on St Cyprian’s in our final league game of the season. The entire day was evenly contested with a mixed bag of results. The standout teams were our U19B team, who narrowly won 2-1 to complete a league season with only one loss in nine games. Our U16A team won 3-0, securing their place on top of the league for now, with only one school able to possibly catch them in the race for the title.

Swimming
Congratulations to Josephine Endres (Grade 9) on her outstanding performance at the Western Cape Short Course Championships, held from 16–19 July 2026.
Josephine delivered an exceptional performance in the pool, claiming four gold medals in the following events:
- 100m Individual Medley
- 50m Breaststroke
- 100m Backstroke
- 50m Freestyle
A special highlight of the championships was the opportunity to meet Olympic medallist Tatjana Smith, who was also competing at the gala.

Water Polo (Pre-Season)
Currently, our Water Polo players are full speed ahead for the next 6 weeks. Our U/14 Team participated in their first round of the Hellfire Tournament, which was held at St.Cyprians on Monday, 27 July 2026. Our girls won all three matches they participated in, which is an extraordinary way to kick off our pre-season games. Our Seniors will be participating every Tuesday evening (venues & times to be confirmed weekly)

Squash
The Youth Squash League continued on Monday, 27 July, with both Rustenburg teams in action.
The RGHS 1st Team took on Westerford High School, while the RGHS 2nd Team faced Herschel Girls’ School.
Well done to all our players for their effort, commitment, and sportsmanship on court. We are proud of the way our teams continue to represent the school and look forward to seeing their continued growth and development throughout the remainder of the league season.

Football

Duathlon
We are very proud to congratulate Tamryn van Aswegen (Grade 10), who was selected for the South African Age Group Team in the SA Duathlon Championship, which was held in Hoekwil, Wilderness on 11 July 2026
Tamryn was selected for the CTTA (WP Team) to compete at the SA Championship this year. Juniors cover the spring distance, which includes a 5 km run, a 20 km cycle and then a 2.5km run.
Congratulations, Tamryn; we look forward to seeing you on the National Stage representing your Country and school.
