Sport Attendance During Ramadan

As we enter the sacred month of Ramadan, we recognise and respect that many of our learners will be observing fasting. We are mindful that this period also falls during the hottest time of the year, and the well-being of our learners remains a priority.

Learners who are fasting may apply for a temporary religious exemption from sport participation during this time. A Religious Sport Exemption Form must be completed and submitted to the Director of Sport for approval.

The link to the exemption form will be shared in tomorrow’s Morning Brief.

We remain committed to creating a supportive and inclusive sporting environment where all learners feel respected while balancing their religious commitments and school responsibilities.

Tennis

Our Tennis teams continue to make excellent progress in the Schools Tennis League. Now, another week into the season, our players have faced strong and well-prepared opponents, consistently demonstrating resilience, commitment, and a positive competitive spirit.

Beyond the results, the teams have shown outstanding sportsmanship and teamwork, representing the school with pride both on and off the court. Their dedication at training and willingness to challenge themselves early in the season is truly commendable.

Well done to all our Tennis teams on their determination, hard work, and strong start. We look forward to seeing their continued success as the league unfolds.

Water Polo

U14A Water Polo – Dave Pitcairn Cup

The U14A Water Polo squad represented their school with determination and skill throughout a competitive weekend of Water Polo at the annual Dave Pitcairn Cup tournament. The event brought together strong youth teams from across the Western Cape to contest honours over three days of high-intensity matches.

Throughout the tournament, the U14A team delivered strong performances in their pool games and knockout rounds. They recorded notable victories, including a convincing win over Wynberg Girls’ High, which showcased both their attacking ability and defensive resilience. Despite facing tough opposition in other fixtures, including matches against teams such as Rhenish and Reddam Constantia, the squad remained competitive throughout.

Their consistent play and teamwork throughout the weekend earned the team a strong overall finish in the Dave Pitcairn Cup, reflecting well on their preparation and commitment. This performance will serve as a solid foundation for future competitions as the group continues to develop their Water Polo skills and cohesion in match situations.

Overall, the U14A team demonstrated grit, improvement, and sportsmanship, making the school proud with their competitive spirit in this respected youth Water Polo tournament.
