Swimming

On Sunday, 7 September, Caitlin Evans (Grade 9) proudly represented South Africa at the African Aquatics Zone IV Open Water Swimming Championships held in Eswatini.

Caitlin produced outstanding performances across her events. She won gold in the 5km Open Water race in the 14-15 year age group and also crossed the finish line as the first female overall. To crown her achievements, Caitlin was part of the South African 4×500m A relay team, which went on to secure another gold medal for the country.

We are incredibly proud of Caitlin’s achievements, which reflect her commitment, discipline and passion for her sport. She continues to be a wonderful ambassador for Rustenburg Girls’ High School, and we look forward to following her swimming journey.

Football

PGSGU Inter-schools

On Friday, 6 September, the 1st Football Team represented Rustenburg Girls’ High School at the PGSGU Inter-Schools tournament, hosted by St Cyprian’s at the Gardens Football/Rugby Club.

The team displayed determination, teamwork and resilience throughout the day, facing strong competition from fellow schools. Their commitment and spirited play were evident in every match, and they finished the tournament in a well-earned 3rd place.

Water Polo

 Hell Fire Cup Success

From 21 July to 14 September 2025, a dedicated team of our water polo players dove into action at the Hellfire Water Polo Cup of Glory. Hosted by the Western Warriors Water Polo Club, this annual event is known for turning up the heat – and our players were up for the challenge!

Over eight weeks of high-energy matches, the team showed true class, battling their way to the semi-finals, where they played a nail-biting game against Herschel. While the match didn’t go our way, the team’s spirit and skill were undeniable! The RGHS team rose to the occasion, finishing an impressive 3rd place out of 16 teams. A fantastic achievement that reflects their determination and teamwork. Thank you to all the parents for their lifting and support.

A huge shoutout to Jade Jarvis (Grade 11), who was crowned Defender of the Tournament – a fantastic achievement and well-deserved recognition of her sharp defensive play.

In addition, on 3 September, Chloe Wood (Grade 10), Jess Gray (Grade 10), and Jorja Turner (Grade 10) took part in the Western Province U16 trials — and we’re proud to announce that all three were selected for the U16B Western Province team! As the tournament wraps up, we turn our attention to the next big event on the water polo calendar: the Mackenzie Cup, taking place from 12–14 September at Reddam Constantia. Best of luck to our stayers team — we’ll be cheering you on every step of the way!
