Cross Country

Vista Nova Cross Country Race

On Wednesday, 28 May, our Cross Country team participated in the league run hosted by Vista Nova High School in Pinelands. Eighteen of our runners took on the renowned course, known for its flat and fast layout, which seamlessly loops through the charming garden city suburb, creating a straightforward race experience for all.The standout performance of the day once again came from our phenomenal Ella Gardner (Grade 9),  who solidified her dominant season by clinching yet another 1st place finish in her age group. Our runners powered through the course, making the most of the ideal racing conditions. With impeccable timing, the race concluded just before the much-anticipated cold front swept in.

Netball

Rustenburg vs St Cyprians

On Thursday, 29 May, we had the pleasure of hosting St Cyprians for a series of friendly netball matches. As the netball season drew to a close, this fixture provided an excellent opportunity to conclude the term on a high note, offering valuable court time against an opponent whose playing style often mirrors our own structures, making for familiar yet challenging contests.

The highlight of the afternoon was the exceptional performance of our U14D team. Their resounding victory against St Cyprians means they proudly stand as the only unbeaten netball team this term. While some teams showcased brilliant individual moments and strong performances, particularly building on the momentum of previous weeks, there were instances where maintaining cohesive teamwork and adhering strictly to game plans proved challenging. These friendly encounters are invaluable for identifying such areas, allowing our coaches and players to refine their strategies going forward.

We eagerly anticipate the resumption of netball matches in Term 3, where our teams will undoubtedly apply these lessons to achieve even greater success.
