Rustenburg U19 A & B vs Wynberg Girls High School
On Thursday, 15 May, our U19A and B netball teams took to the courts for their rescheduled league clash against Wynberg Girls’ High School – and what a way to end the season!
With all other age groups done for the season, there was an unusual quiet on campus, but the U19s brought the energy. The U19B team kicked off proceedings and quickly settled into their rhythm. After a close first half (9–5), they exploded in the second with stellar shooting from captain Aimee Oates and rock-solid defence to claim a convincing 22–5 win.
Inspired by their B team, the U19As came out firing. They dominated early and led 10–4 by the end of the first quarter. Coach rotations kept the intensity high and ensured every player had a moment to shine. A final score of 27–16 reflected the team’s grit and growth, especially after a tough previous encounter against Jan Van Riebeeck.
A huge thank you to our sponsor, Certo Sports, for capturing the action on and off the court.

Cross Country
Camps Bay Cross Country Race
On Wednesday, 14 May, 20 of our dedicated Rustenburg Cross Country runners laced up for the much-anticipated Camps Bay Interschools race. With clear skies above and the crisp ocean air around them, it was the perfect day for racing through one of the most scenic – and demanding – courses on the calendar.

Set against the backdrop of the Twelve Apostles mountain range and the sparkling waters of Camps Bay and Clifton, the route offered both beauty and a challenge. Runners tackled a varied course winding through the Glen, with uneven terrain putting their strength and stamina to the test. Unlike other cross country meets, this race wasn’t about personal bests or podiums, it was a strategic build-up towards the upcoming PGSGU Cross Country event at Springfield Convent on Monday, 26 May. The focus for the team was on form and pacing.
A special shoutout goes to Ella Gardner (Grade 9), who stunned once again with a commanding 1st place finish in her age group – her third consecutive win! Ella is in phenomenal form and is one to watch this season.
Well done to all our runners for their effort on such a challenging course!
