SALT DF Malan Hockey Tournament

In the hockey world, long weekends are for tournaments, and the first long weekend of the year saw our U14 hockey team make the long trip to the Northern Suburbs to take part in the annual SALT DF Malan U14 Hockey tournament.

The tournament boasts over 40 of the top hockey-playing teams in the province and immediate surroundings, and our team performed admirably under the tutelage of coach Mr Owen Maqula.

The growth that has been displayed by the team during their pre-season bodes well for what will be a season of ups and downs for the team, both on and off the field.

Congratulations to the team.

Football

Reddam Constantia Challenge

The 1st Football Team was privileged to participate in the Reddam Constantia Challenge from 21-23 March. The team faced strong opposition but demonstrated remarkable composure and determination throughout the tournament. Despite the matches taking place over the long weekend, parents showed incredible support, attending to cheer on the players, which undoubtedly fueled their drive and determination.

It is with immense pride that we announce that Rustenburg Girls’ High School advanced to the semi-finals, where Rhenish Girls’ High School narrowly defeated them in a tense penalty shoot-out. This is an impressive achievement, and we commend every player for their hard work, resilience, and sportsmanship.

Well done to each player. We are incredibly proud of your efforts and the standard of play you exhibited.

Swimming

We are thrilled to share the outstanding achievements of one of our talented swimmers, Jade Jarvis (Grade 11). Over the weekend, Jade competed at the SA Swimming Level 3 Western Province Championships and put on an exceptional performance. Despite her humble nature, Jade’s results speak for themselves. She finished the weekend with 5 Gold medals and 2 Silver medals, a remarkable feat that showcases her capabilities in the pool. We look forward to seeing what Jade accomplishes next in her swimming journey!
