A group of Grade 9 Rustenburg girls set off for Montenegro on 11 June on a trip-of-a-lifetime water polo tour.
We spent five days in the beautiful seaside town of Budva where we had two two-hour practices a day with a local club team. When we weren’t playing water polo, we were swimming at the beaches nearby, shopping in the Old Town and parasailing in the bay.
We then flew to Serbia where the rigorous training continued in a small town called Becej. Day trips to nearby towns to play matches against the local club teams followed.
Over the two week tour, every single player grew immensely in terms of their skill and fitness in the pool. It will be a trip that we will never forget.
