Cross Country fixtures continue on Wednesday 26 July. This league fixture will be hosted by Wynberg Boys’ High School. Zonal Champs are at Milnerton on Wednesday 2 August.
In Term 3, RGHS will be hosting the Interschools Cross Country event on Friday 8 September. We are wanting to enter our best runners and are hoping that runners will continue to train throughout the holidays. I have written a running programme to guide runners for the three weeks (1-23 July) as to what they should be doing in order to maintain their fitness. This programme is available to any RGHS girl who is interested. A copy can be collected from the Sports Office from Wednesday 28 June.
Results from matches played against DSG and Stellenberg on 23 and 24 June:
|Matches vs Stellenberg|
RGHS 1st Team vs DSG
Fri 23 June – “This was a great match against tough opponents. We showed an improved performance but narrowly lost 0-1 to a goal scored quite late in the match. The team looked settled and played a great passing game. The DSG coach was very complimentary about how well we played with structure and poise’ – Coach Andi
RGHS 1st Team vs STELLENBERG
Sat 24 June – “The girls continued to play in the same manner as they did on Friday, which resulted in us keeping the ball for long periods of time. We were able to win 5 penalty corners from which we scored twice through Brittany Gouws and Kelly Van Vlaanderen. A great result in a tight match’ – Coach Andi
