The 1st TERM SPORTS PROGRAMME 2018 is available here. (There have been some changes to the Touch Rugby days so please do take a look).
- We are pleased to point out that we have added a Social Touch Rugby session on a Wednesday.
- The Social Water Polo on Wednesdays will take place from 15h45-16h45.
- Due to the water crisis in the Cape Town area, both the PGSGU and A-league swimming galas have been cancelled.
- Due to the water crisis in the Cape Town area all Cricket matches have been suspended.
- A reminder to please send through any sports news or achievements to the sports office so that we can acknowledge our sports girls.
EXCITING NEWS:
SWIMMING
Kristin Bellingan, who matriculated from RGHS in 2015, has been included in the Swimming Team to represent South Africa in the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast in April. Rustenburg is extremely proud of your selection and wishes you all the best as you represent your country.

WATER POLO
On Friday, 26 January, our Water Polo girls travelled to Stellenbosch to take part in their first league matches of the season against Rhenish Girls’ High. We were fortunate enough to be able to use the Paul Roos pools. We had an excellent afternoon of good, competitive and fun Water Polo. All 6 of our teams won their matches. Congratulations to all the players and their coaches.

NON-SCHOOL SPORTS:
HORSE RIDING
Arwen Dumbrill (Gr 8) participated in the National Youth (U21) Equestrian Championships that were held in December 2017 at Kyalami Equestrian Park in Johannesburg.
Arwen represented the Western Cape in 2 equestrian disciplines – dressage and showing. The Western Cape won Gold for Dressage and Silver for Showing.
Arwen and her equestrian partner, Dibynn Chit Chat, won 2 RSA National titles: Dressage Freestyle Champion of South Africa: Medium Dressage Victor Ludorum (this is the highest level of dressage a pony rider can compete at) and the SA Supreme Showing Champion of South Africa.
Arwen and her baby horse Vaderlandsche Fausto also won 2 RSA titles, namely, Children’s Novice Dressage Champion of South Africa: Children’s Novice Victor Ludorum and Children’s Novice Freestyle Dressage champion of South Africa.
