Dialogue Day is upon us! The first Dialogue Day of 2020 will be taking place on Monday 24 February and will center around the requested topic of racism. Yesterday the pupils and staff experienced an enlightening introduction to this topic conducted by three matric students: Zipho Tom, Jenna Dugmore and Khadeeja Allie-Ebrahim. These students shared personal experiences, asked provoking questions and informed the audience of the history of racism. This upcoming Dialogue Day is going to be a day of conversation and education.

The Grade 11 Geography fieldtrip to Cape Point started off overcast and ended with fine, sunny and breezy weather. The students enjoyed hiking up cliffs and appreciated the unforgettable views. They identified caves, arches, stumps, stacks and dipped their toes in the cold Atlantic Ocean. At the end of the journey, they were rewarded with a trip to the ice cream shop. It’s that time of term again when you can save a life. This Friday, 14 February, there will be a blood donor clinic held in the Thomson Hall. It will take place from 11:00 to 13:45. Just bring along your ID or birth certificate or your blood donor card if you have donated before. You must be 16 or older, 50kg or more and eat within 3 hours of donating. Your blood can save 3 lives. In spirit of the blood donor clinic and Valentine’s Day, there will be a free civvies day this Friday too. The theme is ‘vampires’. And what better way to spread love on Valentine’s Day than donating blood. - by Roxanne Comyn

Coming to the Memorial Hall at Rondebosch Boys' High School this August: "Wonka", a tribute to the imagination of Roald Dahl. This will be the third successive theatre collaboration between Rondebosch and Rustenburg, and the eleventh stage production led by duo, Mr Adrian Skelly (Head of the Arts Faculty, Rustenburg) and Ms Carey Hickson-Mahony (Principal of the Cape Academy of Dramatic Arts). "Wonka" looks set to be the grandest show yet! @rondebosch_boys_high
