Music Notes 24 February 2017

Dear Music Parents

This has been a quiet week even though the music teachers are currently setting tests and memos.

We have received no less than 19 applications for the Music Scholarship auditions. This far surpasses numbers received in the past.  Therefore the Music Department has decided to split the auditions over two Fridays.

I would like to congratulate Jade Lawson on receiving the highest mark in the country for her LCM Grade 6 Classical Saxophone examination. This is an excellent achievement and one that the Music Department is very proud of. Keep up the good work, Jade!

I would like to remind all music parents of the Music Parents’ Information Evening on Monday in the Kemp Hall. This promises to be a wonderful evening that will be thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.

My focus will be on the vision we have for the Music Department. All music parents are invited to enjoy light refreshments from 17h30 in the Kemp Hall.

All music teachers will be present at this meeting. It will be an ideal opportunity to interact with your daughter’s Music teacher. I hope to see all of you there.

On Thursday 16 February all Music pupils attended a drumming workshop presented by Beat-It. It was a very enjoyable and interactive event that was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.
