Ms Maileen Jamey nominated for Amateur Theatre Award

If you cannot find Ms Maileen Jamey teaching piano in the Music block, you will most definitely find her on her way to a stage somewhere, or busy performing on it!

Ms Jamey’s latest Musical Theatre performance was in Grease, which ran at The Masque Theatre from 15-23 December 2016. She has been nominated for a CATA (Cape Amateur Theatre Association) Award for ‘Most Promising Newcomer’, for her role doing curtain-fills (comedic skits with some dialogue). She was also part of the ensemble.

Despite her busy teaching schedule, Ms Jamey lives out her passion for Musical Theatre, dancing and singing throughout the year.  She also performed in My Fair Lady earlier in 2016 and has been cast as an ensemble member for the Wizard of Oz that will run at Artscape from 16 September – 17 October 2017. Ms Jamey is also involved in a group called Broads on Broadway performing hits from Broadway shows.
