On Tuesday 25 September, Interact hosted their annual School Sleepout to raise awareness of homelessness.
4 inspirational speakers from the Haven Night Shelter shared their testimonials. Care packages containing soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes and sanitary pads that were collected by each grade prior to this event were assembled and sent to the shelter. Knitted squares and reusable pads were also made, as well as motivational notes for homeless people.
Girls who attended, slept in the school corridors on a cardboard box to experience first hand what it would be like to be homeless. Everyone who participated in this successful event gained valuable insight and compassion for those who are homeless.
