Thanks to Outgoing SGB Members
I would like to take this opportunity to thank our outgoing SGB members for their
contribution to the SGB.
Tim Dunnell served on the SGB for 3 years and was also a member of the Campus Development and Maintenance Sub-Committee. Tim provided valuable advice on the electrical needs of Rustenburg and also brought his sharp mind and attention to detail to our discussions in SGB.
Mervyn Doralingo served on the SGB for 2 years and provided valuable assistance to our Human Resources sub-committee. A lawyer by training, he was always willing to offer help and guidance with some of the technical issues we faced in the HR area.
Paul Timoney served on the SGB for 5 years and carried the enormous responsibility of treasurer. Paul, who runs his own accounting practice, set up many of the systems that ensure that we have a smooth functioning bursar’s office today. There is no doubt that during his tenure, Paul gave many hundreds (if not thousands) of hours in service to Rustenburg and placed the school on a firm financial footing. Although wise in ensuring financial stability, Paul also embraced the many campus development projects that the school has undertaken in recent years and found ways to make them viable. Paul’s commitment was not to the finances alone. He made a valuable contribution to the marketing sub-committee in the past year and ensured that the profile of the school was raised in the community. It is hard for us to imagine the SGB without Paul’s steady and meticulous hand but he did a wonderful job of mentoring our new treasurer to ensure a smooth transition into the future. Rustenburg is a better place because of the contribution of Paul Timoney. We are grateful to him for his commitment to Rustenburg and to his family for “sharing” him with us.
