Afrikaans Society |
The Afrikaans Society aims to create an awareness of Afrikaans culture. On Afrikaans Day there is a “pannekoek” competition and Afrikaans authors and actors are invited to address learners. |

AfriTwin |
AfriTwin is an organisation committed to helping schools in South Africa and the United Kingdom to learn about and understand each other’s heritage and culture. Rustenburg is “twinned” with Stroud High in Gloucestershire and Mfuleni High in Cape Town. |

Art and Design Society |
This society serves the school’s artistic needs. Annually, it is responsible for the avant-garde Christmas tree at the school's Carol Service. Eco-fashion garments are also designed, constructed and displayed at a fashion show. |

Audio-Visual Team |
This team manages the sound and lighting for all school functions, from assembly presentations to parent-teacher meetings and the Inter-House Drama Festival. |

Blood Donor Clinic |
The Western Province Blood Transfusion Service is invited to hold clinics at the school at least twice a year. The aim is to encourage blood donation to assist in meeting the ever-increasing demand for blood by hospitals. Girls have to be at least 17 years old and weigh a minimum of 50 kilograms to donate blood. |

Bon Appetit |
Senior Consumer Studies learners (Grades 10 to 12) are responsible for catering at numerous school events and functions, including the Founder’s Day tea and dinner, the welcoming function for new parents, the Mother-and-Daughters’ Tea and various Awards functions. |

Bug Magazine |
This is an internal publication run by Rustenburg’s English department. Learners serve as journalists and draft articles about various aspects of high school life, which appeal to their peers. |
|
Cheerleading |
Cheerleading is a fairly new activity at Rustenburg High School for Girls, but one that is beneficial for the development of the camaraderie between learners. The cheerleaders attend various sporting activities to provide support and encouragement to the participants. |

Cultural Society |
This society aims to showcase the diverse practices and traditions of those in the school who are particularly proud of their heritage. This has included indigenous dance performances, food sales of foreign gastronomic delights, Salsa dancing lessons and the art of sushi-making. |

Debating Society |
Rustenburg offers excellent Debating coaching, which in turn affords learners an opportunity to improve their critical thinking skills, verbal eloquence and confidence. Girls compete in the Rotary League and can go on to represent the school at provincial, and even national, level. The school has performed especially well at the National Girls’ Schools' Festival. |

Earth Children |
Earth Children are a group of dedicated girls who want to reduce their carbon foot print and spread the word about loving and respecting our precious planet. Earth Children coordinate Rustenburg’s recycling initiative, tend the veggie and herb garden and sell compost and worm tea. Their interest extends to supporting The Friends of the Liesbeek with river clean ups and creating fund raising events such as the Earth Concert where R11 000 was raised for Rights for Rhinos and Saving Private Rhino. |

Habitat for Humanity |
This is a global, non-profit NGO which aims at eliminating substandard housing. The committee raises funds for the organization and highlights the pressing need for adequate housing In South Africa. A cyclathon is held at the V&A Waterfront where girls, in relays, cycle for 24 hours for valuable publicity and sponsorship. |

Helen Keller |
A group of girls visits, on a weekly basis, the elderly, partially-sighted and blind residents of the Helen Keller Home In Pinelands. Often girls visit the same "grannies" for several years and build meaningful relationships with them. |

Ignition |
Christian Union girls meet each week to be “set alight” by their relationship with Jesus Christ. Guest speakers are invited and regular prayer meetings are also held. At the RCU Camp at Rocklands, Rustenburg girls join Rondebosch boys for a weekend celebration of the Christian faith. A group of Christian mothers also meets regularly. |

Interact |
Interact is affiliated to the Kirstenbosch International Rotary Club and is the school’s official community service group. There are various sub-committees which are concerned with particular areas of service. These include, amongst others, Paws (animal welfare), Operation Smile (raising awareness of children with cleft palettes) and Earth Children (environmental issues, such as recycling). |
