RGHS Governing Body by-election results
RONEL BERG has concluded her term on the School Governing Body as her daughter Rebecca leaves RGHS after completing grade 12 this year.
Ronel has been an exceptionally involved parent during her years at both the junior and high schools. From 2004 to 2006 she served as a member of the School Governing Body at Rustenburg Junior School and since 2009 I have had the privilege of serving with her during her tenure as a member of the School Governing Body at the High School.
In addition to her role and responsibility as a governor of the school, she has chaired the SGB Committee responsible for Human Resources and Policy where she has provided the necessary leadership and expertise for all SGB staff appointments, staff needs and development, staff remuneration and incentive proposals, leadership and skills training development, school policies and guidance for disciplinary hearings and procedures.
During her tenure on the RGHS SGB she also served on the National Governing Body Foundation and for part of this term, she served as the Chairperson.
On behalf of the school, I wish to express our sincere gratitude for her friendly, efficient, reliable and devoted service to the school.
LESLEY SHAW was elected to the SGB at the School Governing Body by-election which was held on the 11 October. She had already been involved on the financial sub-Committee as a co-opted non-voting member of the SGB.
It gives me much pleasure to formally welcome her to the SGB and based on the contribution she has already made, I have no doubt that she will provide much wisdom and balance to the governance of RGHS.
Lesley is the Business Planning Manager in the Corporate Planning Division of Engen Petroleum Ltd and her daughter Kirsten is in grade 8
CHARLES DE VILLIERS
