Dramatic Arts Department announces cast and looks for wedding dresses
Rustenburg’s Dramatic Arts Department is proud to announce the cast of its 2012 production, “Bride’s Head, Revisited.” The actresses who will be representing the school at the National Girls’ Schools Festival in Potchefstroom (April) and again at the Bishops Drama Festival (September) are:
Grade 11:
Natalie Luyt
Robyn Paterson
Lauren Smithie
Grade 10:
Samantha Culligan
Shannon Hochfelden
Sarah Shamley
Morgan Shelly
Grade 9:
Jessica Smith
Rehearsals will take place each Monday afternoon and evening, and on certain Sunday afternoons.
The script of “Bride’s Head, Revisited” will be developed via the workshop process whereby the cast will be responsible for creating an entirely fresh, modern and original piece of theatre. The show is going to grow in a fluid, organic manner; allowing to revision and amendments to be accommodated during each of the rehearsals.
The premise is to explore just what it is that makes young women aspire to become brides and why becoming a bride receives so much emphasis in society.
The Dramatic Arts Department is looking to source eight second-hand wedding dresses potentially to serve as costumes for the production of “Bride’s Head, Revisited.” If you are able to assist, or perhaps have helpful suggestions in this regard, please contact Mr Skelly directly: skellya@rghs.org.za
