We continue to have what must be the largest entry (and largest pass rate) in the country, from one school or institution, for the ABRSM Theory examination – with approximately 130 learners writing each year. We encourage our learners to participate in the Cape Town and Kaapse Afrikaanse Eisteddfods, and to enrol for the external Music Practical examinations offered by ABRSM and Trinity Guildhall.
A new and exciting component of the Music FET phase is composing and arranging, which uses the Sibelius and Cubase computer software programs. In Grade 10 Music FET the focus is on Sibelius (arranging) and Cubase in Grades 11 and 12 (composing tracks for a poem or powerpoint presentation).
A wide range of extra-mural music activities are also on offer.
