Rustenburg Girls' High School's 68th Carol Service
Rustenburg Girls’ High School will celebrate the season of Christmas in their 68th Carol Service on Wednesday 8 December starting at 7 pm in the Kemp Hall. Over 400 girls will be involved in the singing of the Class carols in each Grade, which will include the two-part arrangement of `Silent Night’ traditionally sung by the Grade 11s each year. The Chamber and the General Choirs will perform items from John Rutter’s `Dancing Day’ cycle of traditional carols.
The Rev Nicky Ing from St Thomas church, Rondebosch will lead the service, and learners from the school will be reading the Lessons. Many of the traditional carols will be sung by the congregation, accompanied by the school’s orchestra.
Everyone is welcome to attend the Service, but is advised to arrive early as there is limited seating. A Collection in aid of Christmas Charities (including The African Scholars’ Fund, Peninsula School Feeding, an Animal Welfare organisation and Little Angels) will be taken during the Service and the girls will be bringing gifts to place under the tree for needy children and the aged this Christmas.
Further information can be obtained by ringing the secretary’s office at tel. 021686-4066.
