Chamber Choir to perform at St George's Cathedral

The University Cathedral Singers are joined by the chamber choirs of Rustenburg High School for Girls and Rondebosch Boys’ High Schools in presenting a liturgical performance of John Rutter’s Requiem – for All the Faithful Departed – at St George’s Cathedral this Sunday evening at 19h00.

Rutter composed his Requiem in 1985. It is a lyrical and listener-friendly work, accompanied, in this performance, by cello, oboe and organ. The soprano soloist is Antoinette Blythe. Most of the text is taken from the traditional Latin Requiem Mass and from the Book of Common Prayer, but additional texts have also been used.

There is some parking in the Cathedral Car Park and also in Queen Victoria Street.
