Rustenburg High School for Girls is perhaps best known for its outstanding academic results, primarily based on learner achievements in the National Senior Certificate Examinations, which has resulted in its securing a position as one of the top 10 schools in the Western Cape.

Apart from employing well qualified and competent educators, with a passion for their subjects, learners are encouraged to take responsibility for their studies and to become enquiring, critical thinkers who will develop a desire to explore beyond the confines of the curriculum, thereby nurturing both personal and intellectual growth, and building the foundation for lifelong learning.

Rustenburg High School for Girls was proud and delighted to be placed fifth in the country in the 2009 prestigious Sunday Times Top 100 Schools survey.

Matric Results 2009

The Matric class of 2009 did Rustenburg proud, with a 100% pass rate. The school was once again awarded a Ministerial Award of Accademic Excellence as one of the top ten schools in the Western Cape.

Some specific achievements that have been brought to our attention:
ENGLISH - Top achieving public school (overall results) in the Western Cape.
AFRIKAANS - Julia Paterson placed 3rd in Afrikaans FAL in the Western Cape & Adriana Oberholzer placed 7th in Afrikaans FAL.
HISTORY - Top achieving public school (overall results) in the Western Cape; Adriana Oberholzer was placed 2nd in the Western Cape, Zafirah Allie joint 5th, Frances Shaw 8th and Mame Amoateng joint 9th.
